Ajmer, India
Akbar Museum
Let the light acknowledge and add layers to the history.
summary
ILDL’s brand partners Dot-Spot and Litolux were used to achieve the lighting intent of the Mughal architectural fort and museum at Ajmer done by the Space Ace.
about the project
Built in 1570 AD, Akbar museum is counted among the strongest citadels of Rajasthan. The stone walls surrounding the Palace consist of a bastion at each corner that is double storied and is enclosed with a chain of columns. The heavily decorated, hefty core and the magnificent gateway makes the fort an architectural masterpiece that reflects the Mughal culture.
lighting design intent
A heritage fort and museum like Akbar Fort allows to ornament and accentuate the rich intricate architectural details that reflect the art of the Mughal era. The crown of the structure was accentuated along with a linear peripheral lighting that was intended to define the magnificent span of the structure. The play with contrast was created using the bollards that helped to achieve interesting patterns of light and shadows.
