summary
Innovative Lighting Designs, from their brand portfolio, used luminaires from Dot-Spot, EWO and Lec to illuminate the Colonial Hall Gate of Amritsar.
about the project
Constructed in 1873, the British legacy, Hall Gate now known as the Gandhi Gate marks the entry way to the historic Town Hall building popularly known as the Hall Bazaar. The Gurbani slogan ‘Amritsar Sifti Da Ghar’ (Amritsar is a home of values) is installed atop marking the victorious history witnessed by the city. Each element of elegance that marks this distinctive structure has its own saga of history to tell.
lighting design intent
Respecting the history rich structure, the gate was lit using miniature fixtures that would be unobtrusive. Keeping in mind the visibility of the structures in daylight, the luminaires were custom painted to camouflage the structure’s color.
