Heritage Gates
If these walls could talk given the right amount of light.
summary
ILDL used luminaires from Lec and Dot-Spot to light up the Heritage facade in order to achieve the lighting intent by CRCI.
about the project
Built in the 19th century, the Heritage Gate is the best example of Indo-British architecture left till date out of the 12 gates constructed at that time. Ram Bagh gate was constructed on the route from Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s summer palace at the Ram Bagh garden to Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). The structure reflects the British style construction with a gigantic arched doorway in the Centre marking the axis.
lighting design intent
To illuminate the facade of the gateway, fixtures from Lec and Dot-Spot were used. The arched and rectangular niche in structure were also accentuated using fixtures from the same brands.
