Heaven’s light be our guide.

about the project
A city well-known for its culture, heritage, and cuisine has many hidden gems in its store that depicts the rich culture of Sikh religion. One such is the Rambagh Gate that boasts about our affluent historic past and our glorious present. Built in the 19th century, the structure is a unique example of the confluence of Persian principles with the Sikh architectural traditions. A masterpiece landscape design and a marvel of engineering exemplifying a scientific system of water management and unique horticultural practices, Rambagh is the only gate that stands in its original shape and rest all other gates (out of the 12) have been reshaped by the Britishers.
lighting design intent
To honor the rich cultural heritage that connected the Golden Temple to the Rambagh Palace (Summer Palace), the intent of the designer was to light up the architectural details that reflected the story of the past which somewhere is getting lost in translation. The homogenous uniform illumination of the entrance arch and other windows were done using fixtures from Lec and Dot-Spot that were specially customised (in terms of optics) to fulfill the purpose of accentuating the architectural details without having any light spills. The use of warm tones was created to achieve an agreeable and relaxing atmosphere that would necessarily enhance the aesthetics of the place.
